Infielder Joe Sever went 2-2 with a solo home run, double and walk and Eric Haase hit a home run to break a tie game to give Akron the 4-3 edge over the Reading Fighin' Phils Friday night at Canal Park.

Turning Point
Eric Haase belted a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth breaking the three to three tie. The Akron bullpen lead by Perci Garner and Cameron Hill was then able to secure the lead in the late innings for the Akron victory.

Winging It<o:p>
Akron starter Luis Lugo battled through five innings giving up three runs on seven hits, walking four and striking out two. In relief, Perci Garner entered to work two scoreless innings, facing the minimum and striking out one. Reading starter Shane Watson worked five innings giving up four runs, three of which were earned on five hits while striking out two and walking four. Cameron Hill picked up his first save of the season, working two scoreless innings allowing just one hit.

Duck Tales<o:p>
Joe Sever hit his third home run of the season; it was a solo shot in the second inning. Sever also doubled finishing 2-2 with a walk on the night. Eric Haase broke the tie ballgame with a solo blast in the fifth inning. Haase has now hit three homeruns in his last five games. The RubberDucks got on the board in the first inning when Luigi Rodriguez scored from third on throwing error by catcher Chance Numata to second base on a steal attempt. Outfielder Jordan Smith was hitless but added a Sacrifice Fly RBI scoring Francisco Mejía in the third.

Reliever Cole Sulser was assigned back to Akron from Columbus… Sulser has throw 13 innings in nine appearances posting a 2.77 ERA this season with the RubberDucks… Time of Game: 2:36…Attendance: 6,281.
