In Game 1, Jacksonville left-hander Matt Tomshaw (12-6) pitched his first complete game of the season, allowing eight hits and one walk with five strikeouts. Barons second baseman Jose Vinicio hit a third-inning home run and scored on center fielder Tito Polo's sixth-inning RBI double. Third baseman Trey Michalczewski's seventh-inning home run made it 3-1. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Jacksonville catcher Cam Maron hit a leadoff triple down the right-field line, and second baseman KC Serna hit an RBI single to end the start by Barons right-hander Jordan Stephens. Right-hander Jack Charleston (1-1) dropped first baseman Alex Yarbrough's sacrifice bunt, before right fielder Kyle Barrett's sacrifice. Shortstop Cleuluis Rondon - a former Baron debuting for Jacksonville - hit a game-tying sacrifice fly. Dean's chopper up the third-base line scored Yarbrough for this season's 10th walk-off win by Jacksonville (31-26 second half, 61-66 overall).

In Game 2, right-hander Tyler Higgins made his first career start and had a career-high seven strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings. He allowed shortstop Danny Mendick's third-inning home run, but Jacksonville scored three runs in the fourth inning, with RBI singles by Vidal and Serna. Mendick's fifth-inning two-run double off left-hander Miguel Del Pozo tied the game for Birmingham (24-33, 50-76). Right-hander Andy Beltre (4-0) stranded the go-ahead runs in the fifth and sixth innings in 1 2/3 scoreless innings. Vidal took Barons right-hander Jake Johansen (2-2) deep to the left-field berm to break the 3-3 tie with one out in the sixth inning. Right-hander Esmerling De La Rosa pitched a scoreless seventh inning for his first save.
