Left-hander Eric Skoglund has been recalled to Kansas City. Overall in ten starts with the Storm Chasers this year he has compiled a 2-4 record and 4.93 ERA (27 ER/49.1 IP), adding 46 strikeouts. The southpaw in three starts with the Royals in 2017 has posted a 1-1 mark and 5.59 ERA (6 ER/9.2 IP), adding eight punchouts.<o:p>
Infielder Corey Toups and left-hander Onelki Garcia have been transferred to Omaha from Double-A Northwest Arkansas. Toups began the 2017 campaign with the Storm Chasers, batting .242 (32-132) with 25 runs, seven doubles, two triples, three homers and 12 RBI in 40 contests. In 25 games with the Naturals he has posted a .286 mark (28-98), adding 14 runs, seven doubles, two homers and 10 RBI.
Garcia also returns to Omaha after tallying a 1-0 record and 5.40 ERA (13 ER/21.2 IP) over ten appearances (one start), adding 13 strikeouts. In two starts with the Naturals this year he has compiled no record and 2.61 ERA (3 ER/10.1 IP), including a quality start on June 22 at Tulsa.
The Royals also announced that left-hander Jonathan Dziedzic has been placed on the Disabled List retroactive to June 28. Over nine games with Omaha, the southpaw has compiled a 3-3 record and 4.73 ERA (24 ER/45.2 IP), along with 38 punchouts.
In addition, infielder Jonathan McCray has been transferred to Single-A Idaho Falls. He collected one hit in seven at-bats with the Storm Chasers, recording his first knock of his Triple-A career on Thursday evening at Colorado Springs. Over eight games with the Chukars he has accrued a .361 average (13-36) with ten runs, one double, two triples, one homer and six RBI.
As a result of these transactions, the Storm Chasers' active roster stands at 24 active players, in addition to three on the Disabled List and LHP Danny Duffy on a Major League Rehab Assignment.
Omaha returns to Werner Park this evening to begin a four-game series against American Northern Division-leading Colorado Springs Sky Sox, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT. RHP Yender Càramo (1-5, 5.65) is expected to get the nod for the Storm Chasers, with the Sky Sox anticipated to counter with RHP Taylor Jungmann (4-1, 1.67).
