LANSING, Mich. - The Lansing Lugnuts have received slugging first baseman Chad Spanberger, acquired by the Toronto Blue Jays with Double-A outfielder Forrest Wall in a trade with the Colorado Rockies for reliever Seunghwan Oh.
Spanberger, 22, was drafted by the Rockies in the sixth round in 2017 from the University of Arkansas. He ranks first in the South Atlantic League with 110 hits, 75 runs batted in, 202 total bases and a .579 slugging percentage; second with a .315 batting average, 65 runs scored and 45 extra-base hits; and third with 22 home runs. Spanberger also won the South Atlantic League Home Run Derby, crushing a total of 29 games.

The Lugnuts (16-18 second half, 59-45 overall) open a four-game series at Dayton tonight, sending left-hander Matt Gunter against Dragons right-hander Austin Orewiler at 7:07 p.m.
