NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (August 27, 2026). – The Myrtle Beach Pelicans (19-37, 46-74) dropped game three of their six-game set against the Augusta GreenJackets (31-25, 66-56) 8-4 at SRP Park on Thursday night. With the loss, the Pelicans fall behind the GreenJackets in the weeklong series 1-2.

Trailing Augusta 5-1 entering the top of the sixth, Myrtle Beach attempted to mount a comeback. Alexis Hernandez drew a walk and then moved to second on a single from Corey Nunez. The next batter Caden Sorrell (3) smashed a three-run home run to bring the Birds to within one run but that was where the comeback stopped.

The GreenJackets struck back in the bottom of the sixth with a solo home run from Parker Brosius (1) to extend the score to 6-4.

Augusta added two more runs in the seventh on a two-run single from Cooper McMurray to make the score 8-4.

Myrtle Beach stated the scoring in the top of the first. Nunez roped a double and then scored on an RBI single from Sorrell to give the Birds a 1-0 advantage.

The GreenJackets took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first on a two-run home run from McMurray (11).

In the bottom of the fifth the GreenJackets put up three more runs to stretch the lead to 5-1. Junior Tilien singled and then moved to second on a walk drawn by Joe Olsavsky. After a passed ball moved both runners up a base, Manuel Campos lined an RBI single. After Caleb Klein walked, Juan Mateo grounded into a double play which allowed Olsavsky to score. Then, Campos scored on a wild pitch.

LHP Landon Beidelschies (3-9, 6.22) received the win for the GreenJackets. RHP Kevin Camacho (0-2, 12.46) was tagged with the loss for the Pelicans.

Myrtle Beach will continue their final roadtrip of the season on Friday, August 28 against the Augusta GreenJackets (Single-A Braves) at SRP Park. First pitch is slated for 7:05 PM. RHP Luis Mata (0-1, 4.50) starts on the hill for the Pelicans. LHP Wil Libbert (0-0, 0.00) will get the nod for the GreenJackets.
