NASHVILLE- The Charlotte Knights fell on Thursday night to the Nashville Sounds by a final score of 4-0. The Knights were only outhit by one, 8-7, and worked three more walks than the home team. NASHVILLE- The Charlotte Knights fell on Thursday night to the Nashville Sounds by a final score of 4-0. The Knights were only outhit by one, 8-7, and worked three more walks than the home team. Situationally, it was Nashville that took advantage of their opportunities while the Knights were 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position and left ten on base.

Hagen Smith took the mound and covered the first three innings. Smith surrendered one earned run and struck out five. Tyler Gilbert worked the next two frames and allowed one run while Tyler Schweitzer was effective on the bump across the final three stanzas.

Both Jacob Gonzalez and Dru Baker finished the contest with two hits. William Bergolla Jr. continued his hot start to the campaign with a double and a walk in four plate appearances. Sam Antonacci and Dustin Harris also found their way into the hit column.

The shutout is both the first the Knights have suffered and the first the Sounds have tossed this season. Charlotte will attempt to even up the series on Friday night with Game Four scheduled to begin at 7:35pm ET.
