Hello fans... my name is Mark McGill, even though I grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago, I grew up a Cubs fan. I am from a town called Dolton, IL about 20 miles south of downtown, and growing up I always wanted to either be Harry Carey or Ernie Banks, and I couldn't hit a curve ball (still can't) so a career behind the microphone was born! I Graduated from Columbia College with a degree in communications and have worked behind a microphone ever since.

I worked at radio stations in Orlando, Florida; Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Abilene, Texas but it's great to be back "home" in the Midwest! I live in van down by the river, with my love Julie, my daughters Kennedy and Madison, my future son in law Nathan and 3 of the cutest dogs east of the Mississippi, Wrigley (of course), Shawzie and Murphy, and yes it's a pretty big van!
What do you currently do for the South Bend Cubs? *I am on the on-field emcee...I have the best job in the park, because I get to walk around, hang out with our guests, play games, and giveaway free stuff!
*
What do you enjoy most about being a Cubs employee? *The best part of my job? Man that's a tough one, certainly stealing a guests french fry or two and a handful of popcorn is up there...but the best part of my job is you, our guests....BEST FANS IN MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL hands down. We have so much fun together all season long, I actually miss them in the off season, and can't wait for spring training.
*
What do you do for fun outside of work? *Outside of the park, I am also very busy...most mornings I can be heard doing the morning show on Today's Best And Most Country B-100 from 5:30 a.m. -10 a.m. In the afternoon I can be heard on the way home from work on Froggy 102.7...I enjoy helping elderly people cross the street and on most weekends I can be found knitting blankets and scarves, or mittens. I can also be found in the team's clubhouse mentoring some of our young players, or spending countless hours in the 1st Source Performance Center helping them with their swing, or giving singing lessons to some of our National Anthem singers! I do a lot...
