Star Wars Day With Character Appearances On 8/26

Bridgewater, New Jersey - The Somerset Patriots, the New York Yankees Double-A affiliate, will host their annual Star Wars Night at TD Bank Ballpark on Wednesday, August 26. The Patriots take on the Akron RubberDucks (Cleveland Guardians) at 6:35 pm.

Costumed characters from the films will be in attendance courtesy of the 501st Northeast Remnant, Saber Guild Corellia and Raquor'daan Clan. Fans will be able to meet Star Wars fan costumers and take pictures with them on the main concourse throughout the game.

There will be a scripted Star Wars show beginning during pre-game and running throughout the game. Saber Guild is an international not-for-profit, Lucas Film-recognized Star Wars costuming group that specializes in choreographed lightsaber shows. Temples often perform at charity and community events, as well as comic book and sci-fi conventions, all to raise money for charity and share our love of Star Wars with fans around the world.

Patriots players and coaches will be wearing exclusive Star Wars themed jerseys featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu in celebration of the new film coming out this summer.

The game-worn jerseys will auctioned off online to benefit the Somerset Health Care Foundation and their work to help Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset enhance their facilities, technology and patient care to improve and save lives throughout the community. The online auction will run from 10:00 am on Monday, August 24 to 9:00 pm on Sunday, August 30.

Throughout the day, fans will be able to enjoy music and clips from the Star Wars films and more activities and entertainment to be announced throughout the planning of this year’s event.

Fans are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Star Wars characters for the game.
