UPDATED Thursday, April 2, 10:50am:
Due to the continued statewide burn ban, the Bulls will not be able to hold fireworks on Friday Night. We have continued to work with the City of Durham and the Durham Fire Department to explore multiple options to safely proceed, but the statewide order does not allow for exceptions. We share in the disappointment that we were not able to include fireworks in the fun and entertainment at the ballpark this week, while also recognizing the broader safety concerns across the state. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you at the ballpark.
MARCH 30, 2026
Due to the statewide burn ban issued this past weekend, the Bulls will not be able to hold fireworks on Opening Night. In collaboration with the City of Durham and the Durham Fire Department, we explored multiple options and proposed solutions to safely proceed, but the statewide order does not allow for exceptions.
We know how much fireworks are a part of the Opening Night tradition at the DBAP, and we share in that disappointment.
Our hope is that the ban will be lifted by this weekend, allowing us to continue with Friday Night Fireworks as scheduled, while also recognizing the broader safety concerns across the state.
Opening Night will still feature all the energy, excitement, and atmosphere that make it one of the best nights of the year, and we look forward to celebrating the start of the season with our fans. We appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to see you at the ballpark.
