Salt Lake City, UT - The Sacramento River Cats (37-55) made it two in a row Saturday night behind an solid start from Chris Stratton as they shut down the Salt Lake Bees (50-43) 4-3.

Salt Lake City, UT - The Sacramento River Cats (37-55) made it two in a row Saturday night behind an solid start from Chris Stratton as they shut down the Salt Lake Bees (50-43) 4-3.

Stratton was strong tonight over his seven innings, fanning six Salt Lake hitters while allowing two runs (one earned). The right-hander looked far from rusty in his first start with the club since June 27 as he held the Bees to five hits and 1-for-4 with runners in scoring position. Salt Lake made things interesting late, scoring two runs in the eighth inning to bring them within a run but Tyler Rogers closed the door for his team-leading fourth save.
The River Cats offense did their part tonight as well, pushing four runs across over four different innings to support Stratton. Orlando Calixte started the scoring in the third with a solo home run, his team-leading 11th of the season. T.J. Bennett and Ryan Lollis each added two-out RBI in the victory with the fourth run coming off a wild pitch which scored Tim Federowicz.
The River Cats and Bees will wrap up their series tomorrow afternoon with right-hander Jose Flores (0-1, 2.25) on the hill for Sacramento. Right-hander Osmer Morales (0-0, 0.00) will make his first Triple-A start for Salt Lake. First pitch is set for 12:05 p.m. (PT) and the game can be heard live on the air on ESPN 1320 and online at rivercats.com.

Stratton: Chris Stratton's lone earned run tonight came after he exited the game…earned his fourth win tonight…the right-hander has now thrown 306 pitches over his last three starts (220 strikes)…allowed five runs over 4.1 innings in his only other start this season at Salt Lake…in two starts in Salt Lake last year, was 1-1 with a 9.00 ERA (12 innings pitched, 12 earned runs).
Calixte: Shortstop Orlando Calixte extended his hitting streak to five games tonight…is hitting .350 (7-for-20) over that span with four RBI and two home runs…collected his team-leading 37th RBI tonight.
Fedex: Catcher Tim Federowicz smacked two doubles tonight, his second game this month with two doubles…leads the team with a .330 batting average on the road.
By the numbers: The River Cats improved their record to 12-16 in one run games (7-9 on the road)…the win also improved their record to 23-24 when scoring first and 9-9 when committing two or more errors.
