Stripers’ Pitching Dominates in 2-0 Win Over Jacksonville

LAWRENCEVILLE, Georgia – Owen Murphy and four relievers combined on a one-hit shutout Thursday night, leading the Gwinnett Stripers (19-17, 57-53) to a 2-0 victory over the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (13-22, 55-54) at Gwinnett Field. The Stripers lead the series 2-1.

Decisive Plays: Murphy got the start and cruised through 4.2 innings (1 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 4 SO) before handing it over to the bullpen, who continued to shut down Jacksonville's lineup. In the seventh inning of a scoreless ballgame, Carlos Santana dropped an RBI single into right field to put Gwinnett ahead 1-0. One batter later, Kyle Farmer drove in a second run on a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0. Ian Hamilton (S, 7) locked it down in the ninth to secure the win.

Key Contributors: Murphy allowed just the one hit – a Cam Cannarella single that led off the game – and the bullpen combo of Ray Kerr, Joel Payamps (W, 5-2), Tyler Uberstine (H, 3), and Hamilton held Jacksonville without a hit over the final 4.1 innings. Santana went 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead the offense.

Noteworthy: The shutout was Gwinnett’s seventh this season and second one-hitter. The last time the Stripers one-hit an opponent was also Jacksonville in a 2-0 win on April 21, 2026 at Gwinnett Field. Hamilton is now 7-for-7 in save chances with the Stripers.
