INDIANAPOLIS - The Gwinnett Stripers completed a three-game sweep of the Indianapolis Indians with a 3-0 win Thursday night at Victory Field.The win was a season-high fifth in a row for the Stripers and their eighth win in their last nine games.

Pitchers Luke Jackson, Lucas Sims, Rex Brothers and Jason Hursh combined to toss the fifth shutout of the season for the Stripers.
Jackson, getting the spot start, pitched 4.0 innings without giving up a run to up his scoreless innings streak to 16.0. Jackson allowed three hits while walking one and striking out four. Sims tossed 2.0 innings in his first bullpen outing at Triple-A this season. He gave up one hit and struck out one. Brothers (W, 2-1) pitched 2.0 innings with one hit and three strikeouts. Hursh (S, 1) tossed 1.0 inning for his first save of the season, stirking out one.
Gwinnett's first run came in the top of the second as Michael Reed led off with a double to right-center off of Indians starter Alex McRae. A groundout to second by Rio Ruiz moved Reed to third and Rob Brantly followed with a sacrifice fly to center, plating Reed for a 1-0 lead.
The other two Stripers runs came in the top of the fourth as Carlos Franco led off with an infield single and scored from first on a long double to center by Reed. Ruiz then pushed Reed in from second with a single to center to make it 3-0.
For Indianapolis, McRae went 6.1 innings with eight hits, three earned runs, three walks and six strikeouts. Jesus Liranzo worked 0.2 of an inning with one walk and one strikeout. Josh Smoker pitched 1.0 inning with one hit, one walk and three strikeouts. Johnny Hellweg went 1.0 inning with two strikeouts.
Reed was 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs to pace the Stripers. Ruiz was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
The Indians were led by Pablo Reyes, who was 2-for-3.
The Stripers (24-27) continue their six game road trip Friday night with game one of a three-game series against the Louisville Bats. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. at Louisville Slugger Field. Gwinnett will start left-hander Kolby Allard (4-1, 2.09 ERA), while Louisville will start fellow southpaw Justin Nicolino (2-2, 4.13).
