Sacramento narrowed Tacoma's lead to 3-2 until Tacoma in the ninth inning. The Rainiers scored twice on Mariscal's two-run homer.
Wright made the start for the Rainiers and threw five shutout innings, allowing two hits, with no walks and three punch-outs.
Tacoma was led by Mariscal, who went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs while walking once, marking the sixth time Mariscal has gone yard this season. Brugman put together a standout day at the dish as well, going 1-for-4 with a home run and an RBI, his fourteenth long ball of the year. Kopach also chipped in for the Rainiers, going 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Overall, Tacoma pushed across their five runs in the contest off of eight hits, four of which went for extra bases, including two home runs. The Rainiers also drew two free passes from Sacramento pitchers.
The Rainiers wrap up their series with the River Cats on Sunday at 1:05 PM PDT at Raley Field.
