MOOSIC, Pa. -- Minor League Baseball has announced that the entire 2020 season has been canceled due to COVID-19. This unprecedented decision was made in conjunction with Major League Baseball to best protect fans, players and staff in each of the 160 MiLB cities across the United States and Canada. It is the first time in Minor League Baseball history that an entire season has been canceled.

“These are unprecedented times for our country and our organization as this is the first time in our history that we’ve had a summer without Minor League Baseball played,” said Minor League Baseball President & CEO Pat O’Conner. “While this is a sad day for many, this announcement removes the uncertainty surrounding the 2020 season and allows our teams to begin planning for an exciting 2021 season of affordable family entertainment.”

The entire home schedule at PNC Field has been canceled, as has the Keystone Mid Summer Classic featuring the 2020 Triple-A All-Star Game.“While this is devastating to baseball fans, we fully understand the decision that needed to be made by Major League and Minor League Baseball,” stated John Adams, the RailRiders Team President. “The health and safety of fans, players and employees are the top priority. Regardless of precautions any team could make, the logistics of a season in these unusual times would likely prove too difficult across the country.”

RailRiders fans have been given the option to apply their money spent on tickets for the 2020 season to 2021 season ticket memberships or receive a full refund. Ticket account representatives have been in contact with fans who have purchased tickets for the regular season or the Keystone Mid Summer Classic.
