BILOXI, MISS. - The Jackson Generals, the Double-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, finally got their engines going on Tuesday, racing past the Biloxi Shuckers in a 6-1 win at MGM Park.

The win snaps a five-game slide for the Generals (46-42, 7-12 Second Half), putting them in position to split the series with Biloxi (50-38, 9-9 Second Half) if they can win Wednesday's matinee. The Generals are 2-7 in daytime finales this year, last winning one on June 17 at Jacksonville.
21-year-old Bo Takahashi (1-3, 6.03 ERA) picked up his first Double-A win, throwing 6.2 innings while racking up 10 strikeouts with one run allowed. Takahashi's efficiency was key, as the right-hander amassed 20 outs on just 98 pitches. His only blemish was a solo homer allowed to Corey Ray in the sixth inning, the sole extra-base hit Biloxi managed. Kevin Ginkel and Daniel Gibson worked scoreless frames in relief, needing only 29 pitches to collect the final seven outs of the contest.
The Generals took an early lead on an RBI double from Rudy Flores that scored Ben DeLuzio in the top of the first. Jackson added more in the third, as Domingo Leyba lined a run-scoring triple to right field to bring home Jay Gonzalez. Takahashi helped his own cause in the fourth, walking on six pitches and later scoring on an RBI groundout by Gonzalez. The Generals succeeded in spite of a 1-for-16 mark in with men in scoring position, using their running game to impact the game with four stolen bases. Leyba and DeLuzio picked up two hits each, while DeLuzio scored two runs and Flores drove in a pair of men.
