The candy man can lead the Mud Hens

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo Mud Hens claimed a 7 - 1 victory over the Rochester Red Wings on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Fifth Third Field.

The Mud Hens (33-41) used an offensive onslaught from Jeimer Candelario to defeat the Red Wings (34-39) without a cloud in the sky. Candelario went four for four at the plate with a home run and four RBI.
Toledo started rolling in the first inning as Jordy Mercer and Willi Castro reached on walks setting the stage for Candelario to blast a 423-foot home run off the batters' eye in center field giving the Mud Hens a 3-0 advantage.
In the bottom of the second inning, umpire Mike Wiseman unfortunately took a ball below the belt delaying the game 14 minutes during the at-bat of Jacob Robson. Robson then beat the shift with a single to left marking the 14th straight game he has hit safely.
Rochester got on the board in the third inning as LaMonte Wade Jr doubled to trade places with Nick Gordon cutting the Red Wings deficit to 3-1.
Mercer played four innings for Toledo in his second rehab assignment and made an outstanding grab before exiting.
Robson led off the fifth with a double and scored as Pete Kozma, who came in for Mercer, doubled to left center. Candelario then singled past the third baseman to score Kozma as Toledo went up 5-1.
Daz Cameron settled for a single to lead off the eighth inning after over running first base. Cameron took second on the next pitch and moved to third on a deep fly out from Kade Scivicque. Robson then roped a single to left field to bring in Cameron as the Mud Hens took a 7-1 lead.
Toledo held off Rochester in the ninth to take the win 7-1.
What's Next:
The Toledo Mud Hens get geared up for a road trip to face it's in-state rival the Columbus Clippers at Huntington Park. First pitch on Monday night is set for 7:05 p.m.

Hens Notes:
● Matt Hall started his eighth game of the season with Toledo in his 15th appearance. Hall has recorded 73 strikeouts in 59.1 innings pitched this season. He has also thrown eight innings in Detroit in five relief appearances.
● Jacob Robson has hit safely in each of the last 14 games he's played going back to June 8. The London Ontario, Canada native has gone 24 for 55 with three doubles, two triples, a home run and seven RBI.
● Candelario is batting a cool .355 with the Mud Hens this season recording three doubles, two triples, five home runs and 18 RBI in 18 games.
