Hartford- Dillon Thomas slugged an opposite field three-run homer to left in the sixth inning and the Hartford Yard Goats held on for a 6-5 win over the Akron Rubberducks, Saturday night, before a sellout crowd of 6,732 at Dunkin' Donuts Park. The victory was surging Hartford's fourth straight, matching its longest winning streak of the season.

Thomas' fourth home run of the year, culminated a five-run inning, helped by two costly Akron errors. The Goats scored their other runs in the frame on an RBI-double by Ashley Graeter and a two-base error by the Akron shortstop, as they sent eight batters to the plate.
After Akron left-hander Thomas Pannone, a Cranston, RI native, retired the first seven Yard Goats, Josh Fuentes homered - his second in two games - to tie the contest, 1-1. The Cleveland Indians affiliate retook the lead on Francisco Mejía's solo home run in the fourth.
Winning pitcher Parker French, who left the game with a 6-2 lead, hurled six innings plus two batters to improve to 3-3. After yielding a three-run homer to Bobby Bradley in the eighth inning, reliever Shane Broyles retired the next two batters, then pitched out of ninth inning trouble with the tying run on first base, getting a strike out and fly ball to the warning track in left field, for his second save.
The Yard Goats go for the sweep at Dunkin' Donuts Park on Sunday afternoon at 1:35 p.m.   LH Sam Howard will start for the Hartford against D.J. Brown for Akron. The game can be heard on AM 1410 WPOP and on iHeart radio.
