Portland, Maine - Nick Green worked his first scoreless outing of 2019 and the Trenton Thunder (32-30) shutout the Sea Dogs (28-32) 7-0 in the series opener on Thursday night at Hadlock Field.

Portland, Maine - Nick Green worked his first scoreless outing of 2019 and the Trenton Thunder (32-30) shutout the Sea Dogs (28-32) 7-0 in the series opener on Thursday night at Hadlock Field.

Green (W, 3-3) allowed just four hits - all singles - over six scoreless frames while walking one and fanning four.
Trenton got off to a hot start in the second when Chris Gittens hit his league-leading 22nd homer on a 3-0 pitch from Daniel McGrath. After base hits by Kellin Deglan and Isiah Gillam, Rashad Crawford hit a two-run double to extend the lead to 3-0.
Deglan led off the top of the fourth with a solo homer off of McGrath to put Trenton up 4-0.
McGrath (L, 6-1) allowed four earned runs on a season-high eight hits in six innings. He struck out four and walked none.
The Thunder padded the lead with three two-out runs in the top of the ninth off of Durbin Feltman. Max Burt had an RBI single and Hoy Jun Park added a two-run double.
Craig Weissert, Brooks Kriske, and Daniel Alvarez combined to pitch the final three innings and allowed just one hit.
The Sea Dogs and Trenton Thunder (Yankees affiliate) continue their series with a 7:00 PM first pitch from Hadlock Field on Friday night. LHP Matthew Kent (5-6, 3.86) takes on Trenton RHP Albert Abreu (5-8, 4.00). Radio coverage on the WPEI U.S. Cellular Sea Dogs Radio Network begins at 6:45 PM.
