Tides to host Filipino American Heritage Day

The Norfolk Tides will be hosting Filipino American Heritage Day at Harbor Park on Sunday, June 30th. Game time vs. Charlotte is set for 1:05 pm, with gates opening at 12:00 pm. 

The Tides are partnering with the Filipino American Historical Society of Hampton Roads for the event, which will feature authentic Filipino American food and entertainment. SLIDE THRU #FAM will be serving up their signature Filipino classic dishes like pancit and lumpia, S'MORES AMORE will be providing homemade s'mores for those looking to satisfy their sweet tooth, and ANGIE'S BAKERY will be selling a variety of Filipino baked goods.. There will be a pregame cultural display by the School of Creative & Performing Arts of the Philippine Cultural Center, and local Filipino singer Cristelle Camarillo will sing the National Anthem. There will also be commemorative Filipino American Heritage Day t-shirts that will be available at the Harbor Park team store.

The mission of the Filipino American Historical Society is to promote the history and contributions of Filipino Americans in the Hampton Roads region. Since 1990 the Hampton Roads Chapter has provided annual education programs which has positively impacted awareness of Filipino Americans on a local and national level.
