LANSING, Mich. - Buddy Reed and G.K. Young homered, helping the Fort Wayne TinCaps (38-23, 64-67) romp to an 11-3 victory over the Lansing Lugnuts (22-39, 59-68) in the opener of a four-game homestand on Friday night at Cooley Law School Stadium.

The Lugnuts have lost 10 of their last 11 games.

Reed's fifth home run of the year followed a one-out walk to Young in the second inning, supplying the first of six consecutive hits against Andy Ravel (Loss, 6-9) in a six-run rally.

Young led off the next inning with a solo shot off reliever Griffin Glaude , and 17-year-old Gabriel Arias followed three batters later with an RBI double to increase the lead to 8-0.

The TinCaps added three runs in the fifth inning before Andrew Deramo and Chris Hall combined to blank them for the rest of the game.

Fort Wayne starter Michel Baez (Win, 6-2) fired six innings, striking out five batters, allowing only a fourth-inning David Jacob two-run homer - the first baseman's first home run with the Lugnuts.

Jim McDade (Save, 2) handled the final three innings, giving up a Yeltsin Gudino triple and a Ridge Smith RBI grounder in the ninth.

The Nuts' Smith, Kevin Vicuña and Nash Knight each finished 2-for-4 in defeat.
