The TinCaps won three of four games in the series.

21-year-old Fort Wayne starter Michel Baez(Win, 2-0) excelled in his third professional start, limiting the Lugnuts to a single and a walk - both by second baseman Yeltsin Gudino - in six scoreless innings, striking out seven.

The TinCaps put the game away with a four-run seventh against Andrew Deramo and a three-run eighth against Denis Diaz .

Gudino, who finished 3-for-3 with a walk, capped the scoring with an RBI single in the ninth off Blake Rogers. In the process, he raised his batting average to .270.
