Reading, PA - Brandon Leibrandt (5-2) put forth his best outing of the season and worked through seven scoreless innings, allowing only four hits while striking out four on his way to his team leading fifth win of the season. The lefties took over at America's Classic Ballpark in front of 6,711 on Friday night as Leibrandt and Hartford's Jack Wynkoop kept both offenses in check deep into the ball game. 
In a scoreless game heading into the bottom of the third, the Fightin Phils got all the offense they'd need, scoring the game's only run. MalquinCanelo led off the inning with an infield single and was sacrificed to second by Leibrandt, bringing up the top of the order. In his first start since returning from Lehigh Valley, Jiandido Tromp laced a double into right center field to put Reading in front 1-0.
Joey DeNato came in to pitch the top of the eighth and ran into some trouble. With the bases loaded and one out, Greg Legg went to his bullpen for Colton Murray . Murray struck out Ashley Graeter for the second out of the inning, and with two away, Chace Numata picked off Jan Vázquez at third base to end the threat.
Heading back out for the ninth, Murray struck out the first two batters before the Yard Goats made it interesting. Back-to-back singles and a wild pitch put runners at second and third. With Vazquez at the plate and the tying and go-ahead runs in scoring position, Murray dropped a breaking ball to strike out the side and record his third save of the season, completing the shutout and giving the Fightin Phils their third straight win.
