Tyler came in with the game tied and worked out of the seventh inning. Both teams went scoreless in the eighth and then Asheville took advantage of some sloppy defense in the ninth. With two outs and the bases empty
McLaughlin then hit a fly ball to right field that was dropped by Isranel Wilson. All three runners came in to score. Doyle shut the door in the ninth for his sixth save of the season. Rome finished with six errors in the game.
The win snaps Asheville's five-game losing skid and provides a little momentum heading into Greenville. The Tourists and the Drive face off on Friday night at 7:05pm.
