Santana, 25, appeared in 23 games for the Indians this year, posting a 1-1 record with five saves and a 1.93 ERA (7 ER in 32.2 IP). He has pitched more than 1.0 inning in 10 outings this season, including a season-high 3.0 innings on May 13. Santana also held the opposition scoreless in 21.2 consecutive innings earlier this season.
Born in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, Santana was signed as a non-drafted free agent on Oct. 12, 2013. He will be the fifth Tribe player to make his major league debut this season.
