Major League spring training may have come to an end but minor league camp still have a few games remaining. On the road in Lakeland, the Triple-A Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Triple-A Detroit Tigers 5-2. The Phillies rallied for three runs in the top of the ninth to break a 2-2 tie.

Drew Anderson went five innings for the Phillies and allowed two runs, while scattering three hits. In what is likely his final start of the spring, Anderson struck out five Tigers before handing the ball to Yacksel Ríos. Rios went two innings, striking out two and allowing one hit. Josh Tols struck out one in 1.1 innings before Tom Windle closed the ballgame recording the final two outs.
Rios began the 2017 season in Double-A as a member of a very impressive Fightin Phils bullpen. Rios was named an Eastern League All-Star and was promoted to Triple-A shortly after. The 24-year-old made 13 appearances for the IronPigs before earning a promotion to Philadelphia. Rios had an ERA of 1.96 at the time of his promotion. A 12th-round pick in 2011, Rios remains on the Phillies 40-man roster but will be back with the Pigs to begin the 2018 season.
The Phillies got timely hits in the top of the ninth inning to break the tie and knock off the Triple-A Tigers. Danny Ortiz and Jesmuel Valentín each had two hits in the game. Dylan Cozens and Andrew Pullin combined to drive in four of the five runs. The Phillies had four extra-base hits -- doubles by Roman Quinn, Cozens and Ortiz and a home run by Pullin.
A former fifth round pick out of high school, Pullin has hit at every level. In big league camp as a non-roster invitee for the second consecutive spring, Pullin spent the second half of the 2017 season with the Pigs. The 25-year-old was one of seven players in the Phillies minor leagues to hit 20 or more home runs last year. Pullin was optioned to minor league camp in mid march after predominantly seeing time in left field while in big league camp. Pullin could serve the Pigs in the outfield or as a DH during 2018.
The spring season wraps up Friday on the road against the Triple-A Blue Jays.
