Erie beat the Reading Fightin Phils (26-35) 6-0 and improved to 8-3 against them this season. Reading managed just four hits and turned in a 2-4 road trip.
A.J. Simcox hit a RBI single off Fightin Phils starting pitcher Franklyn Kilomé (1-3) in the bottom of the second inning to give the SeaWolves a 1-0 lead. After the RBI single from Simcox, Kilome retired ten out of the final fourteen batters he faced. He allowed just one run off fix hits and two walks with three strikeouts in six innings.
Seth McGarry gave up two runs to the SeaWolves in the bottom of the seventh inning as Erie would extend their lead to 3-0. Harold Castro hit a RBI double to score Jake Rogers then scored on a wild pitch by McGarry. Rogers hit a three-run home run off Tyler Gilbert to give Erie a 6-0 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning.
