Twenty Hit Attack Leads Augusta Over Rome

Augusta crossed the plate three times in the first inning as Jean Angomas, Skyler Ewing, and Frandy De La Rosa all had run scoring singles for the 3-0 lead. 

Augusta crossed the plate three times in the first inning as Jean Angomas, Skyler Ewing, and Frandy De La Rosa all had run scoring singles for the 3-0 lead. 

The GreenJackets added to their lead in the seventh on Michael Bernal's RBI single for the 4-0 score. Rome cut the lead in half in the bottom of the inning thanks to a two run triple by Justin Ellison, closing the gap to 4-2. The GreenJackets quickly got the two runs back in the eighth on De La Rosa's two run double and added another run in the ninth for the 7-2 final.
Dominic Mazza (3-6) picks up the win while Rome starter Alan Rangel (0-1) gets the loss. Mazza pitched seven innings and did not allow a hit until the fourth. He struck out eight while the Augusta offense tallied 20 hits, all of which were singles. The Braves made five errors in the game.         
The Greenville Drive come to town Friday to begin a three game series. Friday's first pitch is at 7 p.m.
