Two Hartford Yard Goats Players Named to Eastern League All-Star Team

(Hartford, CT) The Hartford Yard Goats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, has been informed by Minor League Baseball (MiLB) that two Hartford Yard Goats players have been named to the Eastern League All-Star Team. Right-handed pitcher Jack Mahoney and infielder Roc Riggio were named to the 2026 Eastern League All-Star Team by Minor League Baseball. Mahoney was named as one of the starting pitchers and Riggio was named as the second baseman. Only one player was chosen at each position along with four starting pitchers and two relievers. The Yard Goats are only one of five Eastern League clubs to have multiple All-Stars selected. It is the first time since 2023 that the Yard Goats have had a player named to the EL All-Star Team (Hunter Goodman).

Mahoney, 25, was drafted by the Rockies in the 3rd round in 2023 out of the University of South Carolina and put together one of the best seasons for a starting pitcher in club history, going 7-1 with a 1.99 ERA and 64 strikeouts in 68 innings pitched from April 4 through July 30^th when he was promoted to Triple-A. He posted the best ERA over first five starts (0.83) in club history, while becoming the first ever Yard Goats pitcher to register a 1.98 ERA in first ten starts. His season ERA of 1.99 is third best in club history. The Arlington Heights, Illinois native established a club record with four consecutive scoreless starts (16.2 IP) April 11-June 11, and set a club record by striking out 9 of the first 10 batters of game, June 11^th vs New Hampshire, and was named EL Pitcher of Week. Mahoney was named Rockies Minor League Pitcher of Month in July, going 4-0 with a 1.65 ERA over five starts.

Riggio, 24, was acquired by the Rockies in a trade with the New York Yankees in July of 2025. The lefty slugger batted .256 with 16 home runs, 51 RBI, 50 runs scored and 20 stolen bases (.371 OBP/.492 SLG/ .863 OPS) in 89 games, April 2 through August 11 when he was promoted to Triple-A. At the time of his promotion, he ranked tied 4th in Eastern League in doubles and tied 5^th in EL in extra-base hits. The Rockies #12 prospect was Rockies Organization Offensive Player of the Month for July and batted .303 with 5 2B, 5 HR, and 11 RBI, while leading the Eastern League in OBP and walks (23). The Tarzana, California native homered in three consecutive games, May 8-22, cranked home runs in back-to-back innings on May 8 and hit pair of 3-run homers to tie franchise record with 6 RBI on April 22. Riggio was originally the Yankees 4th round pick in 2023 out of Oklahoma State University.
