In anticipation of a large crowd this evening, the Omaha Storm Chasers are encouraging fans to arrive early at Werner Park. Parking lots will also be open for tailgating beginning at 3:30 p.m. CT, with gates opening at 6:00 p.m. Guests are advised to arrive prior to 6:30 p.m., as the busiest times are expected to be between 6:30-7:15 p.m. Baseline Box on the first base side and Home Run Porch fixed seats for this evening are still available, along with McDonald's Berm tickets.
The "Biggest Fireworks in the Metro" will blast off following the Storm Chasers game tonight as part of Independence Fireworks presented by First National Bank. The show this evening, expected to last around 20 minutes, will be the organization's 49th Annual Independence Fireworks extravaganza.<o:p>
New for this year's First National Bank Independence Fireworks show at Werner Park are even larger fireworks, whose shells measure eight inches in diameter. Those fireworks will be the largest ever launched in the history of Werner Park since the ballpark opened in 2011.<o:p>
