(Harrisburg, Pa) - Tyler Viza (6-4) turned in his strongest outing at the AA level on Thursday night against the Harrisburg Senators (33-45). He allowed just one run off two hits in eight innings while recording eight strikeouts in guiding the Fightin Phils (46-30) to a 7-1 win. <o:p>
The Fightin Phils helped Viza by providing plenty of offense. Nick Rickles hit a RBI single off Senators starter Kyle McGowin (0-3) in the top of the second inning to score Jiandido Tromp to give Reading a 1-0 lead. Harrisburg matched the run in the bottom of the second inning as Yadiel Hernandez hit a home run off Viza. <o:p>
Mitch Walding and Rickles hit back-to-back home runs off McGowin in the top of the fourth inning to give Reading a 3-1 lead. The home run for Walding was his 19th of the season and his 13th in the month of June. Rickles home run was his fourth of the season. <o:p>
The Fightin Phils scored three more runs off McGowin in the top of the fifth inning as Carlos Tocci hit a RBI single, Walding was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Rickles added a sacrifice fly. McGowin would leave the game as Reading took a 6-1 lead.<o:p>
Angelo Mora hit a RBI triple off reliever Phillips Valdez in the top of the eighth inning to give the Fightin Phils a 7-1 lead. Valdez logged three innings in relief. Former Fightin Phil Jimmy Cordero pitched a scoreless top of the ninth inning. Vìctor Arano finished out the game for Reading by pitching a scoreless bottom of the ninth inning. <o:p>
