Richmond, Virginia - The Somerset Patriots (39-21) take the series opener with a 3-2 win over the Richmond Flying Squirrels (33-28) Tuesday night at The Diamond.

Ken Waldichuk (W, 3-0) struck out a career-best 11 batters across a career-high 97 pitches to lead the way. The southpaw allowed two runs on five hits and three walks over 6.1 innings and earned his second-straight win.

Richmond took an early lead on an Andres Angulo (2) solo home run in the third, but Somerset responded the next half inning. Brandon Lockridge (1), playing in his first game with the Patriots, drilled a solo home run out to right-center field in the fourth to tie the game.
