FRISCO, Texas (July 31, 2019) - North Texans are loyal to both the RoughRiders and Whataburger, so to celebrate the great fans of both, the two local favorites have teamed up to stage Whataburger Fan Appreciation Night on Friday, August 9 at Dr Pepper Ballpark.
The event comes one day after the legendary restaurant celebrates its 69th anniversary and will honor the faithful fans, young and old, who have made Whataburger a Texas Treasure.
The Riders and Whataburger have cooked up a bevy of special elements for the evening, including giving out free Whataburger Pez dispensers to the first 1,500 fans and staging various Whataburger-themed contests during the game, highlighted by the fan-favorite Whataburger Horse Race. Plus, the night concludes with Whataburger coupons upon exit.
Additionally, Whataburger will continue its role as an active community leader by participating in Kids Night Out, a program dedicated to providing tickets for underserved children from organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
As a thank you to the great fans of the RoughRiders and Whataburger, the two have teamed up to provide an unbeatable offer for their faithful fanatics. About Whataburger
Whataburger has focused on its fresh, made-to-order burgers and friendly customer service since 1950 when Harmon Dobson opened the first Whataburger as a small roadside burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas. Dobson gave his restaurant a name he hoped to hear customers say every time they took a bite of his made-to-order burgers: "What a burger!" Within the first week, people lined up around the block for his 25 cent, 100 percent beef burgers served on five-inch buns. Today, the company is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, with more than 830 locations in 10 states with sales of more than $2 billion annually.

About the RoughRiders
The Frisco RoughRiders are the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers and play their games at beautiful Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas. The team was founded in 2003 and has finished first among all Double-A franchises in attendance in each of the last 14 seasons (2005-2018). In August 2014, the RoughRiders were purchased by an ownership group led by Chuck Greenberg.
