FRISCO, Texas (August 21, 2026) - After entering the eighth inning in a scoreless tie, the Frisco RoughRiders fell 4-1 to the Wichita Wind Surge Friday night at Riders Field.
In a bullpen game, Frisco (24-24, 63-53) got three scoreless innings from Cole Stasio to start the night and then a scoreless fourth from Austin Roberts. Wichita (24-25, 49-67) starter Ty Langenberg matched with five one-hit innings of his own and four strikeouts.
Brock Porter took over in the fifth for Frisco and threw up two zeroes, but walked the first three batters of the eighth inning ahead of a go-ahead grand slam from Andrew Cossetti that gave the Wind Surge a 4-0 lead.
Frisco found the scoreboard in the bottom of the ninth with a Corey Joyce RBI single, but stranded two on base with the tying run at the plate.
Notes to Know:
Outside of the four-batter sequence that netted Wichita the win, Frisco pitching did not allow another run and surrendered just four total hits on the night.
Dylan Dreiling extended his season-long hitting streak to 14 games with a sixth-inning single.
Rafe Perich doubled in the ninth after a single in the second and is now 8-for-14 in the series.
Wichita has taken the first four games in the series and now Frisco hands the ball to RHP Aidan Curry (3-2, 5.08) against RHP Chris Vallimont (2-3, 4.89) in a 7:05 start Saturday at Riders Field, looking to end the skid.
