The Indianapolis Indians edged the Rochester Red Wings 2-1 Sunday afternoon at Frontier Field. The series concludes Monday afternoon at 1:35 p.m., with Turn Back the Clock Day - featuring $5 tickets, and 50-cent hot dogs.

Action picked up early when in the top of first inning Austin Meadows doubled off of David Hurlbut. Meadows then scored two batters later when Jason Rogers singled him home to give the Indians an early 1-0 lead.
Indianapolis added to their lead in the top of the third when Meadows ripped a double, which brought Christopher Bostick home all the way from first. That run padded the Indians' lead to 2-0.
Rochester had a chance to strike back in the bottom of the fifth, when Tommy Field recorded the first hit of the afternoon against Nick Kingham. Field's single was followed by a Leonardo Reginatto single as well. On a wild pitch Field reached third with only one out. However, Rochester did not take advantage of the opportunity to get on the board, as back to back strikeouts by Bengie Gonzalez and Engelb Vielma brought the inning to a close.
After Meadows led off the top of the sixth inning with an infield single, Alan Busenitz relieved Hurlbut. Hurlbut finished with 5.0+ innings pitched, allowing six hits, a walk and two runs, which were both earned, and recorded one strikeout. Hurlbut threw 84 pitches, 54 for strikes.
In the bottom of the seventh, Niko Goodrum doubled off of Kingham that extended his hitting streak to seven consecutive games. Field followed with an RBI single, bringing the Wings to within a run at 2-1.
Kingham pitched 6.1 innings, allowing three hits, an earned run and a walk with five strikeouts. Kingham threw 96 pitches, 63 for strikes.
Busenitz pitched two scoreless innings, allowing two hits. Alex Wimmers pitched the eighth, and worked around a runner at third with one out situation. Wimmers added a perfect ninth inning of relief.
The Indians out-hit the Red Wings 8-4. Zack Granite went 0-for-4, ending his 13-game hit streak.
