LYNCHBURG, Va. (July 18, 2017) - Winston-Salem was unable to complete a three-game sweep against Lynchburg in the doubleheader finale on Tuesday night, as Gavin Collins' four-RBI effort and Shane Bieber's strong start helped the Hillcats blank the Dash 5-0 at Lynchburg City Stadium.
Despite the defeat, the Dash (13-12, 37-58) recorded their first winning road trip of the season, going a combined 4-2 against the Pelicans and Hillcats (15-11, 55-40). Prior to Tuesday's nightcap, Winston-Salem was also riding a four-game winning streak, which had tied a season-high.

After Alec Hansen and Mike Morrison held the Hillcats to one hit en route to a 3-0 victory in game one of Tuesday's twin bill, Lynchburg recorded two knocks in the first inning alone against Dash starter Bernardo Flores (0-3), including an RBI single from Collins to put the Hillcats up 1-0.
In the second, Lynchburg added another run on a single from Daniel Salters, bringing home Ka'ai Tom after he led off the inning with a double.
Collins delivered his second run-scoring hit of the night against Louie Lechich after Flores left the game with runners at the corners and two outs in the fourth. On a 0-2 pitch, Collins lined an RBI single to right, pushing the Hillcats' lead to three.
Lynchburg's third baseman finished off his strong performance with a two-run double against Drew Hasler in the sixth to make it a 5-0 contest. In the three-game series, Collins went 6-for-11 with seven RBIs.
Bieber (6-1) tossed six strong innings, yielding seven hits while striking out five. In two starts against the Dash this season, the right-hander is 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA.
Following a league-wide off day on Wednesday, #YourHomeTeam returns to BB&T Ballpark on Thursday to start a four-game set against the Salem Red Sox, with first pitch slated for 7 p.m. Right-hander Brannon Easterling (6-5, 4.61 ERA) toes the slab in the series opener for Winston-Salem against Red Sox southpaw Dedgar Jimenez (10-3, 3.07 ERA), who has not given up a run in his last 17 innings of work.
Pregame coverage for Thursday's game begins at 6:45 p.m., and all of the action will be available on 600 AM-WSJS, 101.3 FM, MiLB.tv, wsdash.com/broadcast and the TuneIn Radio App.
The Dash's promotional slate for their upcoming homestand begins with a Lowes Foods Thirsty Thursday, where fans can enjoy $1 Domestic Cans and $1 Carolina Blonde Drafts through the seventh inning.
