Join us at Fluor Field on August 23rd for the Greenville Drive game against the Asheville Tourists as we celebrate Women in Sports Day at the ballpark, powered by Girl Scouts of South Carolina, Mountains to Midlands.
All afternoon long the incredible impact women make on all aspects of the sports industry will be spotlighted & celebrated --- as athletes, coaches, executives, broadcasters, officials, and leaders. Their passion, determination, and leadership inspire future generations while continuing to break barriers and create new opportunities for girls and women everywhere.
Women in Sports Day will feature several unique entertainment elements & experiences, including:
- Pregame Women in Sports Leadership Panel Discussion – join us before first pitch in the 500 Club for an engaging panel discussion moderated by Melanie Huggins, CEO of Girl Scouts of South Carolina Mountains to Midlands. The panel will feature several highly accomplished female executives and athletes throughout the sports industry. Hear their personal journeys, career advice, and insights into the ever-growing opportunities for women in athletics. This discussion will begin at 2:15 PM and is open to all with a ticket to the game.
- Meet & Greet with the Furman Softball Team – meet members of the Furman University Softball program, take photos, collect autographs, and connect with one of the Upstate's premier collegiate softball programs.
- Post-Game Skills Clinic with Furman Softball – following the game, young athletes are invited onto the field for a fully complimentary, highly interactive Softball Skills clinic, led by Coach Mary Beth Dennison and the Furman Softball Team
