Wood Ducks Announce Mother's Day Weekend Promotions

Kinston, North Carolina - The Down East Wood Ducks announced earlier today the Mother's Day Weekend Promotions that are scheduled for their series versus the Buies Creek Astros. Games will be played on Friday, May 12^th at 7pm, Saturday May 13^th at 6 pm and Sunday, May 14^th at 2pm. Gates will open 1 hour prior on Friday and Sunday and 1.5 hours prior on Saturday.  <o:p>
Friday will be Military Spouse Appreciation Day as all Military Spouses that present their ID at the box office will receive $3 off any ticket.   In addition, Food Truck Friday will take place as trucks from the Chef and the Farmer, the Little Chef and JAM Ice Cream will all be on site and serving food and there will be $3 Mother Earth draft beer throughout the night.   There are also post-game fireworks scheduled as well.<o:p>
Saturday will be "Almost Mother's Day" as any pregnant women will receive $3 off any ticket.   We will have a New Mom Information Table, Presented by UNC Lenoir Health Care. The table will be staffed by an OBGYN and Midwife who will answer questions throughout the game. In addition, we will add pickles to the Dippin Dots cart for the night for anyone that might have a craving for pickles and ice cream.   If any expecting mom gives birth during the game, she will receive two Wood Ducks season tickets for life.   Just in case anyone gives birth during the game there will be extra paramedics on site in addition to the OBGYN and Midwife.    The first 2,000 women in attendance on Saturday will receive a flower, compliments of Rider Florist.   <o:p>
The Wood Ducks had previously announced that former ECU, and current Atlanta Falcons, WR Justin Hardy will be on site on Saturday and sign autographs from 4:30-5:30 pm. Anyone with an ECU ID can receive $2 off a ticket in recognition of the jersey number Justin wore at ECU. In addition, it is also Pepsi Saturday so anyone can receive $3 off with a specially marked Pepsi can. (Ticket discounts can not be combined. Limit one offer per person, per ticket).<o:p>
Sunday will be a Salute to Mothers as all moms, of any age, will receive FREE admission to the game when accompanied by their son or daughter.    We will have Mother's Day Gift Packages, compliments of The Beauty Box, that will be given out throughout the game and post-game will feature a "Moms and Kids Walk the Bases".   If mothers are looking for a gift for their kids then they can visit the UNC Lenoir Health Care Customer Service booth and sign them up for the Lil DEWDs Kids Club. Memberships will only be $15 during Sunday's game (regular price of $20).   <o:p>
The Wood Ducks players will be using special pink bats during Sunday's game and fans will have a chance to bid on the bats as part of Pink Bats for a Cause presented by UNC Lenoir Health Care Foundation. All proceeds from the auction will go to support breast cancer patients in need at UNC Lenoir Hospital. Bidding is open immediately with bids starting at $100 per bat and can increase in $5 increments. Please submit all bids to [email protected].   Bidding will close at the top of the 7^th inning in Sunday's game.   Winning bidders will receive a pink bat that is signed by the Wood Ducks player that used the bat during the game.  <o:p>
The Wood Ducks are also conducting a week long social media promotion that allows fans a chance to register their Military Spouse, Almost Mother, or Mom for the chance to throw out the first pitch on those respective days. Fans can send a photo and a reason why you think they should win to [email protected].   One winner will be selected for each day.   <o:p>
