Yankees LHP Carlos Rodon Currently Scheduled To Rehab In Somerset On Sunday
Bridgewater, New Jersey – The New York Yankees are currently scheduling to have LHP Carlos Rodon make his second rehab start with the Double-A Somerset Patriots on Sunday, June 25. The Patriots take on the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays) at TD Bank Ballpark at 1:05 pm.

Rodon’s Yankees organizational debut took place in Somerset on Tuesday night when he struck out five batters and allowed a run in three innings pitched. The two-time MLB All-Star threw 42 pitches, retiring the last seven batters he faced in order. Rodon struck out four batters in a row during a span over the 2nd and 3rd innings. Rodon became the ninth major leaguer to appear in a game for Somerset on rehab assignment this season.
Rodon signed with the Yankees as a free agent on December 21, 2022. Over eight Major League seasons with the Chicago White Sox (2015-2021) and San Francisco Giants (2022), Rodon had a 56-46 record with a 3.60 ERA and 947 strikeouts over 847.1 innings pitched in 152 career games (147 starts).
Over the last two seasons, Rodon has gone 27-13 with two complete games, a 2.67 ERA and 422 strikeouts in 55 starts. The Miami, Florida native has finished in the top-six in Cy Young Award voting twice and has led the majors in K/9 (12.23) since 2021.
Rodon tossed his first career no-hitter on April 14, 2021 versus the Cleveland Guardians, retiring the first 25 batters he faced before hitting Roberto Perez in the ninth, He finished the game with seven strikeouts.
He went 14-8 with a 2.88 ERA and 237 strikeouts over 178 innings pitched in 31 starts for San Francisco in 2022. That season, Rodon posted career highs in wins, innings pitched, strikeouts and double-digit strikeout games (11).
Since 2021, he has recorded at least 10 strikeouts without any walks in six games.
