Yard Goats Drop Contest in New Hampshire

Manchester, NH- The New Hampshire Fisher Cats scored seven runs over the first three innings and defeated the Yard Goats 7-3 on Thursday night at Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester, New Hampshire. Aaron Parker hit a two-run homer and Dub Gleed had three hits leading the Fisher Cats to their second straight win against Hartford. Dyan Jorge had an RBI single to extend hit hit-streak to five consecutive games for the Yard Goats, and Jacob Humphrey had a single to extend his hit-streak to four consecutive games. The Yard Goats bullpen of Davis Palermo and Austin Smith fired 5.1 scoreless innings.

The Fisher Cats scored three runs in the first inning against Yard Goats starter Bryson Hammer. Eric Snow led off with a double and scored on a throwing error to make it 1-0. Later in the inning, Aaron Parker cranked a two-run homer to make it 3-0.

New Hampshire made it 7-0 with four runs in the third inning. Carter Cunningham cracked a two-run double, scoring Dub Gleed and Aaron Parker, making it 5-0. After back-to-back walks, Mathieu Vallee contributed with a two-run single to make it 7-0 Fisher Cats.

Fisher Cats starter and Blue Jays #3 prospect Johnny King fired four scoreless innings allowing just one hit, with three walks and six strikeouts. Hartford did have base-runners against King in three of four innings. The Yard Goats had runners at second and third in the first and third innings but did not score.

The Yard Goats scored a run in the sixth inning off reliever Aaron Munson. Dyan Jorge came up with an RBI single scoring Braylen Wimmer to make it a 7-1 game.

The Yard Goats continue the six-game road trip on Thursday night at Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester, New Hampshire. LHP Bryson Hammer will start for the Yard Goats and LHP Johnny King will start for the Fisher Cats.
