Yennsy and Yeltsin yield 4-2 win

LANSING, Mich. - Yennsy Diaz struck out eight batters in his home debut, Yeltsin Gudino knocked in three runs, and the Lansing Lugnuts (2-4, 39-33) outpaced the Bowling Green Hot Rods (1-5, 32-41), 4-2, on Tuesday night at Cooley Law School Stadium.The Lugnuts won their seventh straight game against the Hot Rods.

LANSING, Mich. - Yennsy Diaz struck out eight batters in his home debut, Yeltsin Gudino knocked in three runs, and the Lansing Lugnuts (2-4, 39-33) outpaced the Bowling Green Hot Rods (1-5, 32-41), 4-2, on Tuesday night at Cooley Law School Stadium.

The Lugnuts won their seventh straight game against the Hot Rods.

Diaz (Win, 1-0) struck out two batters apiece in the first, second and third innings, whiffing one Hot Rod each in the fourth and fifth, and allowing only a pair of singles and a fourth-inning run.

Gudino put the Lugnuts on the board with a two-run single in the second inning off Adrian Navas(Loss, 4-8). Rodrigo Orozco followed with a sacrifice fly for a 3-0 lead.

In the bottom of the fourth, Ridge Smith doubled and Gudino delivered another RBI single for a 4-1 lead.

Jonah Heim homered off of Griffin Glaude in the sixth to pull the Hot Rods within two. It was the only base runner allowed by Glaude in two commanding innings.

Connor Eller (Save, 2) wrapped matters up, recording three strikeouts in two scoreless innings.

In addition to Gudino's two-hit performance, Bo Bichette went 2-for-4 to raise his league-leading batting average to .398. Christian Williams and Nash Knight also collected a pair of hits.
