Clay Dungan came a double shy of the cycle and Bobby Witt Jr. went 2-for-4 with two runs batted in, but the San Antonio Missions offense overpowered the Northwest Arkansas Naturals in a 14-6 loss on Friday night.

Dungan and Witt Jr. (MLB Pipeline’s No. 7 prospect in baseball) each drove in two runs, as did Travis Jones, but San Antonio scored early and often to even up the series.

Stephen Woods Jr. allowed a season-high seven runs on 10 hits, while striking out four and Derrick Adams relieved him, surrendering six runs on six hits across 2.2 innings.

The first Naturals run of the game scored in the third inning, when Dungan homered to right, his second of the season and fourth of the series. It continues Northwest Arkansas’ streak of consecutive games with a home run, stretching it to 18.

Witt singled in one in the sixth and was followed by Jones, who drove home two with a single.

Dungan tripled home a run in the seventh and scored on Witt Jr.’s second RBI single of the game.

Despite a 3-for-4 day for Dungan, his sixth multi-hit effort in seven games, the Naturals could not keep up with the Missions, who scored in six of eight innings, at least two runs in five of those frames.

Northwest Arkansas will look to get back in the win column Saturday at 7:05 p.m. in San Antonio, the fifth game of the series, as the Naturals look to get back to a .500 record.
