SPRINGDALE, Ark - During Opening Night at Arvest Ballpark, the Northwest Arkansas Naturals proudly announced that C Salvador Perez, a former Natural star in 2011, has been inducted into the Naturals Hall of Fame. Perez was ultimately elected over fellow candidates 1B Kila Ka'aihue , INF Whit Merrifield , and OF Wil Myers by the Hall of Fame Voting Committee.
Perez becomes just the fifth individual inducted into the Naturals Hall of Fame. He joins elite company as his plaque will now be displayed with the likes of Clint Robinson ('13), Brian Poldberg ('14), Mike Moustakas ('15) and Eric Hosmer ('16). The Hall of Fame at Arvest Ballpark is located along the wall of the Community Room, just inside the main gates. Fans are encouraged to check out the five (5) Hall of Fame plaques as well as the Season 10 Team ('17) during their next visit to Arvest Ballpark.

Salvy debuted with the Naturals at the beginning of the 2011 season. From the outset, the then 20-year-old displayed great hands, superb reflexes and a cannon-like arm while throwing out nearly half of all would be base runners. In three (3) months in Northwest Arkansas, he threw out nearly 48-percent of base runners while the rest of the catchers in the Texas League averaged a 27-percentage caught-stealing rate. By the end of July, his offense started to catch up to his defensive prowess as he collected 10 hits in his final 16 at-bats for the Naturals including three homeruns (two grand slams) to go along with 15 RBI.
The 2011 Mid-Season Texas League All-Star hit .283 with 9 homeruns and 43 RBIs in 79 games for Northwest Arkansas before being promoted to Omaha. He continued his hitting ways in Omaha (.333) before ending the 2011 season in Kansas City.
