The Pacific Coast League announced on Monday that Storm Chasers pitcher Arnaldo Hernandez has been honored as the circuit's Pitcher of the Week for the time period between August 13-19. Hernandez is the third Chasers player to earn a weekly honor from the Pacific Coast League this season.

Hernandez was dominant in the Storm Chasers' 3-1 victory over Oklahoma City on August 15. Hernandez fired the first nine-inning complete game by an Omaha pitcher since Aaron Brooks ' two-hit shutout performance in game four of the 2014 Pacific Coast League Championship Series against the Reno Aces at Werner Park. Hernandez allowed just five hits and one run while striking out six Dodgers batters, finishing with 97 pitches, including 80 strikes.
It was the second straight victory for Hernandez. The right-hander also dominated in his start on August 10 against Round Rock, blanking the Express in his seven innings of work that included just two hits allowed and four strikeouts. In seven appearances (six starts) with Omaha this year he owns a 4-1 record and 3.48 ERA (16 ER/41.1 IP) with 28 strikeouts.
Hernandez is the third Storm Chasers player to be honored with a weekly award by the Pacific Coast League this season, and the second pitcher. Jake Kalish was named Pitcher of the Week for the time period between July 16-22, while Humberto Arteaga earned Player of the Week honors for the week of May 21-27.
The Storm Chasers start a three-game set in Oklahoma City on Tuesday evening with first pitch set for 7:05 PM. Following that series, Omaha returns home on Friday, August 24 to begin their final homestand of the season. First pitch of the series-opening contest against the Iowa Cubs is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT.
Tickets for that game and all remaining 2018 Storm Chasers games are still available and can be purchased online at www.omahastormchasers.com/tickets, or by calling the Werner Park Ticket Office at (402) 738-5100.
