PAPILLION, NE (July 23, 2018) - The Pacific Coast League announced on Monday that Storm Chasers pitcher Jake Kalish has been honored as the circuit's Pitcher of the Week for the time period between July 16-22. Kalish is the second Chasers player to earn a weekly honor from the Pacific Coast League this season.

Kalish was dominant in his start against Nashville on July 18. Kalish struck out nine Sounds batters and allowed just two hits in seven shutout innings to earn his fourth victory of the season. Kalish's nine strikeouts were the most by a Storm Chasers starter since Heath Fillmyer also struck out nine batters on June 7.
It was the second victory in the month of July for Kalish. The lefty also dominated the Sounds earlier in the month in game one of a doubleheader on July 2. Kalish earned his first complete-game shutout of his career in the Storm Chasers 7-0 victory.
Kalish is the second Storm Chasers player to be honor with a weekly award by the Pacific Coast League this season. Humberto Arteaga earned player of the week honors for week of May 21-27. He is also the first Storm Chasers pitcher to win the weekly award since Luke Farrell (June 19-25) and Jonathan Dziedzic (April 6-16) did so in 2017.
The Storm Chasers start a three-game set in Sacramento on Tuesday evening with first pitch set for 9:05 PM. They'll return home August 1 when they start a seven-game homestand with a 7:05 PM contest against the Las Vegas 51s.
Tickets for that game and all remaining Storm Chasers games are still available and can be purchased online at www.omahastormchasers.com/tickets, or by calling the Werner Park Ticket Office at (402) 738-5100.
