Peoria, IL - For the second day in a row walks did in the Peoria Chiefs in a 4-3 loss to the Burlington Bees. The Friday night loss moves the Chiefs to 5-10 on the season with the series finale set for Saturday.

Both teams scored early unearned runs. The Chiefs got theirs in the fifth inning to tie the game 1-1. Brandon Riley walked, moved to second on a pickoff error and to third on a fielding error as Zach Jackson reached first. Riley scored on a fielders choice as Delvin Perez picked up the RBI.
Diego Cordeo worked into the seventh and the game was still tied 1-1 going into the eighth. Lars Nootbaar drew a leadoff walk and Nolan Gorman singled. Leandro Cedeno was hit by a pitch to load the bases and the Chiefs took a 2-1 lead on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Brendan Donovan.
The lead was short lived as Burlington plated three runs without a hit in the bottom of the inning. Reliever Sebastian Tabata issued a one-out walk and after a strikeout he walked four batters in a row to plate two runs and give Burlington a 3-2 lead. Thomas St. Clair entered the game and a sacrifice fly gave the Bees a 4-2 lead.
The Chiefs had a chance in the ninth against the Bees bullpen. Jackson led off with his second homer of the season to cut the Burlington lead to 4-3. Perez singled up the middle but he was left at second as the Chiefs lost by one.
Cordero took a no-decision as he allowed just one unearned run on six innings for his second straight quality start. The lefty walked one and struck out five. Tabata (1-1) allowed three runs in one hitless inning as he walked five and took the loss. St. Clair retired both batters he faced.
