PEORIA, IL - After taking the winter off and spending spring training in Florida to work on a new routine, the Peoria Chiefs biggest fans Norm and Al have returned to Dozer Park to cheer on the Chiefs and interact with fans. The fan favorites will debut on Thursday night as the Chiefs host West Michigan at 6:30 p.m. at Dozer Park.
Just like the Chiefs players, Norm and Al spent the off-season in Florida, relaxing, working on their tans and then getting into baseball shape. The corn claim learning their new routine for 2018 took longer to perfect than expected, though the staff believes Norm and Al were just trying to avoid the snow and cold weather in April at Dozer Park and have begun calling the duo their new "SnowCorn."
As they rejoin the Chiefs this week, Norm and Al will be more visible to fans and interactive as well. Instead of being behind the center field wall this season the corn will be on the concourse during games interacting with fans and available for photos. When the Chiefs score and their favorite song "We Like to Party" blares over the stadium speakers, Norm and Al will run down the concourse steps and dance on top of the dugout, leading the fans to root on the Chiefs.
