PEORIA, IL -- The Peoria Chiefs returned home from a six-game road trip Tuesday but came out on the wrong side of 6-1 decision to Wisconsin.

Peoria starter Wilfredo Pereira made just his second start of the year and struck out five through three shutout innings. In the fourth, Wisconsin used back-to-back doubles to jump out to a 1-0 lead.

The Wisconsin advantage did not last long, however. Chandler Redmond tied the game with his eighth home run of the year off of Wisconsin starter Victor Castaneda.

In the fifth, Wisconsin scored a pair of runs, including an unearned tally, to take a 3-1 lead. They scored two more in the sixth to create some separation, 5-1. Later in the ninth, they added a late insurance run to create the final margin.

Jhon Torres reached base three times in the loss for the Chiefs. Tyler Reichenborn and Jordan Walker each recorded a multi-hit night for the home team.

The series continues tomorrow at 6:35 p.m. Michael YaSenka, the reigning High-A Central Pitcher of the Week, will start for the Chiefs. He will be opposed by right-hander Reese Olsen.
