Chihuahuas to host Marvel's Defenders of the Diamond Night, one of four scheduled jersey auction nights

EL PASO – February 18, 2022 – "Wakanda forever!" The El Paso Chihuahuas announced today that they will participate in Marvel’s Defenders of the Diamond Night and will don the Black Panther jersey on August 6, 2022, one of four specialty jerseys during the 2022 season. Individual game tickets for the 2022 regular season will go on sale to the general public on Friday, February 25 beginning at 10 a.m.

The Chihuahuas join 95 other minor league teams who will participate Marvel’s Defenders of the Diamond campaign. In October, Minor League Baseball announced a three-year partnership with Marvel Entertainment starting in 2022. This allows for the Chihuahuas to host at least one Marvel Super Hero™ themed game as part of the “Marvel’s Defenders of the Diamond” campaign. In homage to the Chihuahuas parent affiliate, the San Diego Padres, the Chihuahuas will wear a Swag Chain jersey on April 30, the first of the specialty jerseys to be worn by the team. The brown pinstripe jersey features a gold sublimated "Swag Chain" with the Chihuahuas "EP" logo in the center.

The Stars and Stripes specialty jersey returns for the three-day GECU Independence Day Celebration July 1-3 and the fourth specialty jersey will be the GECU Bark at the Park jersey on September 2.

All jerseys during the Chihuahuas 2022 campaign will be auctioned off to patrons who attend each respective Chihuahuas game, with proceeds benefiting the El Paso Chihuahuas Foundation.

Individual game tickets go on sale Friday, February 25 at 10 a.m. Purchasers who buy in advance will enjoy savings on reserved seating versus purchasing on the day of the game. All online purchases are subject to online purchase fees.
