MARIETTA, GA - The Southern League of Professional Baseball Clubs are proud to announce that Montgomery catcher Brett Sullivan has been named Player of the Week, and Biscuits pitcher Benton Moss has been selected as Pitcher of the Week. This marks the second time this season Montgomery has swept the Southern League's Weekly Awards. Both awards recognize these players' performances for games during the week of August 27 - September 3.

Sullivan, 24, led all qualified hitters this past week in a number of offensive categories including: OPS (1.348), batting average (.481), on-base percentage (.533), and slugging percentage (.815). The Stockton, California native also paced all batters with 13 total hits, six extra-base hits, 22 total bases, and nine RBIs.

A 17th round selection by Tampa Bay in the 2015 MLB Amateur Draft, Sullivan appeared in 111 games for Montgomery this season and finished with the lowest strikeout rate (one strikeout every 8.47 plate appearances) among qualified hitters in the Southern League.

Moss, 25, earns his second Pitcher of the Week selection this season, adding on to the award he received on August 13. The Tarboro, North Carolina native combined to post a 1-0 record with a 0.69 ERA (1 ER/13.0 IP) alongside just four hits and one walk. He also registered 10 strikeouts. Moss's WHIP (0.38) and opponent's batting average (.098) were the lowest among all pitchers who threw more than seven innings during the season's final eight games.

Over his last 10 outings, Moss has posted a 7-2 record with a 1.61 ERA (12 ER/67.0 IP). He was selected by Tampa Bay in the sixth round of the 2015 MLB Amateur Draft out of the University of North Carolina.
