Calvin Faucher joins Kernels from Fort Myers

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that RHP Calvin Faucher joins the Kernels from Fort Myers and RHP Moises Gomez and RHP Derek Molina have been assigned to the Elizabethton roster. Brian Maloney, Twins Senior Manager of Minor League Operations, announced the move.
Faucher was promoted to Fort Myers on April 21st and in six relief appearances, posted an 0-0 record and 7.30 ERA. He made two relief appearances for the Kernels, posting a 1-0 record and 0.00 ERA. In 5 IP he allowed three hits and an unearned run while striking out six and walking two. He was selected by the Twins in the 10th round of the 2017 First Year Player Draft out of UC-Irvine.
Gomez joined the Kernels on April 3rd and has made eight relief appearances this season, posting an 0-0 record, 3.03 ERA and one save. In 14.1 IP, he allowed 12 hits and five runs with six walks and 12 strikeouts.
Molina joined the Kernels on April 12th and has made seven relief appearances, posting a 1-0 record and 4.05 ERA. In 13.1 IP, he allowed 12 hits and eight runs (six earned) with nine walks and 15 strikeouts.

With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at 24 active players, one below the MWL maximum of 25, with three players currently on the DL, one player on the suspended list and one player on the military leave list.
The Kernels return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Monday, May 14th and open a five-game, four-day home stand against Quad Cities that continues through Thursday, May 17th.
